Though about half of all U.S. adults have high blood pressure (HBP), just 1 in 4 have it under control. In fact, many take several medications to treat it, yet still haven’t reached their blood pressure goals.
Since hypertension can damage blood vessels and, in turn, cause a heart attack or stroke — especially in those with cardiovascular disease (CVD)* — it’s important to treat high blood pressure effectively. Those with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are also at added risk because CKD and hypertension can each make the other condition worse.

Because hypertension can be difficult to get under control, research studies are now assessing investigational “add-on” blood pressure medications. These types of therapies require very infrequent dosing. The hope is that they will help more people reach their blood pressure goals—without adding to their daily dosing burden.
So, we need volunteers of all ages, genders, races and ethnicities to ensure these investigational medicines will work for all types of people with high blood pressure. Know that even if you qualify and enroll, you can still withdraw from the study at any time, for any reason. See if you may qualify…act now.

*In a research study, the participants may receive investigational study product or may receive an inactive substance, or placebo, depending on the study design. Participants receive study-related care from a doctor/research team for the duration of the study. For studies that offer compensation, reasonable payments will be made for participation. The length of the study may vary.
